Quality Control Auditor

Location - Sterling, Illinois

SHIFT: 3:30pm – 2am

Wahl Clipper is searching for experienced and dedicated individuals to join our Quality Team.  Wahl Clipper Corporation, in business since 1919, is the worldwide leader in Clippers, Trimmers and Professional products for stylists and consumers.  Wahl is a global company with our products being sold in over 165 countries.  We are unique because although we are a global company, we are still owned and operated by the Wahl family, and as such family values are at the heart of our organization.    We are most proud of being able to manufacture superior products here in the USA.   We are taking the journey into Lean manufacturing as such place great emphasis on teamwork and eliminating waste.This individual will be responsible for taking random samples of products, attachments or packaging and comparing them with Wahl specifications.  This position is responsible for performing all functional, visual and safety inspections.  This position follows up on quality problems and traces defects back to previous operations to ensure quality specifications are maintained.   This position will be responsible for basic metrology support defined as: first article part inspection, product part inspection and calibration of attribute gauges. May be requested to work overtime as necessary.

The selected individual should have strong math skills and basic knowledge of statistics.  Must be able to frequently lift 10-40 lbs. and be able to constantly walk, stand and reach.   Selected candidates must have the ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings and use testing equipment and gauges, and have strong problem solving and communication skills, ability to make data driven decisions.  Must have good attendance and follow established work rules and safety procedures.  Candidate must be able to work all variety of people with excellent communication skills both verbal and written. 

The candidate will have knowledge of Lean Manufacturing terms and ideas, and be committed to continuous improvement.  The candidate will recognize similarities among situations, appropriately addressing them.

 Electronics Engineer

Location - Sterling, Illinois

Wahl Clipper, the worldwide leading manufacturer of Clipper and Trimmers for global consumer and professional markets, is searching for Electronics Engineers to expand their New Product Development Group in Sterling IL.  

A large percentage of the Electronics Engineer’s time will be spent collaborating with cross functional team members in the development and implementation of electronic features for new products.  The remainder of their time will be spent supporting and improving existing products, assisting the engineering test lab, and solving technical challenges.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical design function on product development teams

  • Develop appropriate project costs, requirements, and schedule.  Focus activities to meet these goals

  • Design and direct engineering experiments

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Electronic Engineering 

  • Experience with developing, designing, testing, and debugging electronic circuits

  • Experience with operating electronic test equipment such as digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, battery analyzers, and data-loggers 

  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) in a cross-functional team environment

  • Strong sense of urgency and personal commitment

  • Creative problem solving ability

  •  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PCB design software

  • Proficiency with programming microcontrollers in assembly or C++

  • Experience designing and building graphical user interfaces (GUI) with Labview

  • Knowledge of controlling and communicating electronic test equipment with PC and PLC interfaces such as RS232, GPIB, and USB

Financial Analyst

Location - Sterling, Illinois

Wahl Clipper Corporation is Searching for a Financial Analyst

Wahl is a leading global manufacturer of professional and consumer grooming products.  We are looking for a financial professional at our Sterling, Illinois facility.  This newly created position will fulfill a key role in providing financial analysis and support to aid in management decision making.   

Responsibilities include: 

  • Furnish analysis of financial performance against plans and historical results.

    Assist with the development of financial plans.
  • Perform detail customer and product line profitability analysis.  Summarize variances against planned and historical margins, and share findings, including insightful trend analysis, with sales and finance management.

  • Assist sales management with analysis in support of new customer, product or sales program opportunities.

  • Perform capital expenditure analysis to understand financial impact, along with changeover capability, flexibility, impact on takt time and kaizen opportunities of any existing similar machinery or equipment.

  • Analyze significant scrap and inventory adjustment transactions to identify root cause and suggest corrective measures.

  • Ensure compliance with company financial policy.

  • Assist with continuous efforts to eliminate waste and improve business processes in support of lean manufacturing. 

    Perform select account analysis in support of the financial closing and annual audit.

 
The successful candidate will have: 
 
 
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience, preferably in a discrete manufacturing environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting

    CPA or CMA preferred
  • Strong Excel skills, experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus 

  • Lean Manufacturing / Lean Accounting experience is a plus 

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with an attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills, able to work in a team environment

ERP Application Analyst/Programmer

Location – Sterling IL.

The ERP Applications Analyst is responsible for administering and maintaining the Wahl Clipper Corporation DYNAMICS AX ERP environment.  The ERP Applications Analyst will also work with end-users and IT staff to design and develop business applications/solutions to achieve company goals and objectives.

 

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field is required. 

  • Minimum two years on the job experience in developing and supporting an ERP environment, SQL Server and SSRS.  

  • Prior experience developing and supporting Business Intelligence software.  

  • Microsoft Certification is a plus.  

  • Experience with Dynamics AX ERP is preferred.

  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written are required.

Mold Maker  -Second Shift 2:30pm - 11pm

Location – Sterling IL 

The Mold Maker repairs, rebuilds and/or overhauls all types of production and service equipment.  Sets up and operates all types of tool-room equipment and tools, considering the various types of materials, tolerances, cutting tools, coolants and machine tool’s feeds/speeds.  Works with extremely close tolerances and grinds all types of special tools.  This position shall improvise when equipment is limited.  Heat-treats and welds parts as required.  Fits and assembles jigs, fixtures, tools, dies and molds. 

Performs required inspections before, during and after machining.  The Mold Maker determines specifications for inspection of work using precision measuring tools.  Requires high degree of precision and control in work to avoid material waste and equipment damage.

The Mold Maker will plan and layout all work. Determines accurate and efficient methods for performing the planned work. The incumbent uses shop mathematics daily to perform work.

This position may work with Product Designers and Engineers, providing input to manufacturing capability on newly designed products.  The Mold Maker will at times, instruct and assist Machinists, Preventative Maintenance Technician, and Mold Makers of lesser skills and abilities.

Position supports manufacturing floor with problem solving and repair to maintain efficient high volume production.

Successful experience managing Independent Rep. organizations.

Minimum Reguirements

This position is not entry level.   Prior experience in Mold making is required. 

 Knowledge and experience with molds, machine tools and machinist hand tools.  Apprenticeships and/or certifications a plus.  Must possess a high degree of attention and care, toward work.  Knowledge of and ability to use shop mathematics.  Ability to communicate with others effectively.

Manufacturing Engineer

Location – Sterling IL 

Wahl Clipper has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer. We are a family oriented, leading manufacturer of small electric appliances.

With a 90-year history Wahl Clipper is the world leader in consumer and professional clippers, trimmers and shavers. We have over 2000 employees in manufacturing facilities in Hungary, China, the U.K, Germany and at our World Head Quarters in Sterling Illinois. 

This position will support the Clipper Value Stream. Areas of knowledge should include: stamping, grinding, coil winding, injection and compression molding, and assembly.

The successful Manufacturing Engineering candidate will have the following:

  • Extensive understanding of electrical and mechanical controls.

  • Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems in a manufacturing facility.

  • The ability to develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing and assembly processes, work force, space and work flow.

  • Background in product design, materials and fabrication processes.

  • Knowledge in tooling and production capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards.

  • Experience in new equipment design, specifications, acquisitions, verification and validation processes.

  • Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment.

  • CAD experience is a plus.

  • Lean Manufacturing experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to improve the quality and efficiency of processes, which ultimately results in cost reduction.

  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical/Engineering discipline.
