Journeyman Progressive Tool & Die Maker W/ High Speed Stamping - 1st shift

Location - Sterling, Illinois

Wahl Clipper is searching for experienced and dedicated individuals to join our Tool Room Team in a high volume precision metal forming/stamping plant.

 

Key Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Build new, repairs, rebuilds and/or overhauls all types of production progressive dies/injection molds and service equipment. Read blue prints to build quality components within tolerances of one thousandths of an inch. Checks and inspects die for wear and maintenance issues. Evaluates problems and implements immediate solutions to reduce problem recurrence.
  • Set up and operate all types of tool-room equipment and tools, considering the various types of materials, tolerances, cutting tools, coolants and machine tool’s feeds/speeds.
  • This position works with extremely close tolerances and grinds all types of special tools to blue print & die specifications. Use of micrometers, calipers, optical comparator and/or VIM visual inspection machine & CMM coordinate measuring machine.
  • Traces tool difficulties to their source and corrects them. Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Develop root cause to production issues, preventative maintenance thru continuous improvement.
  • Will help develop our apprentices in our Tool & Die Program.
  • Must possess a high degree of attention and care, toward work.

The ideal person for this position has the following minimal requirements:

  • The successful candidate must have knowledge of and ability to use shop mathematics, tools & hold a Journeyman’s certificate with 5 years of experience or 10 years’ experience without a certificate.
  • A Mandatory requirement would be to have 3D CAD/CAM knowledge, wire EDM & CNC programming from solid models

National Account Associate

Location - Sterling, IL

The National Account Associate role is designed to develop those entering our sales force to understand our process and current business environment. This position is in our Consumer Sales Division working in partnership with the National Sales Managers and other sales personnel with all activities affecting the sales and marketing of Wahl products to Amazon, Costco, Target & Walmart. The National Account Associate will have co-responsibility for outside accounts, including delivering assigned sales and profit goals, assisting in data collection and analysis, developing and making presentations and building relationships.

  • The National Account Associate will work in partnership with the National Sales Managers on key major accounts and deliver sales and profit goals. Responsibilities will grow over time as abilities develop.
  • Manages existing customer relationships and identifies opportunities to drive revenue.

This position is responsible for managing all phases of the product life from product inception to sourcing and manufacturing with outside suppliers and consultants. Manage a time sensitive schedule to ensure that products are introduced, cost saving realized, and forecasts are prepared in a timely basis. CAD Manager

Location - Sterling, IL

The CAD Manager position supports the New Product Engineering team in development and implementation of CAD standards. This position will train CAD users and stay up-to-date on skills. The CAD Manager solves service issues and measures and reports on performance.

Key Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develops, implements and enforces CAD standards and trains new and current CAD users.
  • Manages software licenses such as NX and Team Center and recommends the purchase and installation of new software licenses as needed.

Category Manager

Location - Sterling, IL

The Category Manager will be responsible for supplier management, supplier sourcing and category management duties within assigned categories of spend. This position manages both value and risk within the supply base and ensures that supplier pricing, processes, and quality meet or exceed business requirements. Primary categories of responsibility will include cords, shaver parts, transformers, batteries, motors, PCBA and MIM blades. Secondary miscellaneous categories will be assigned as required.

Key Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies of assigned categories through analysis and linkage to company requirements
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding and knowledge of assigned category products/markets, supplier input costs and their potential impact on company performance
  • Regularly perform detailed analysis (exchange rates, trade compliance, industry capacity, price trending data) and other relevant information for assigned categories. Provide appropriate and timely visuals for the Gemba process
  • Develop, communicate and implement short & long-term category strategies to lower total cost of ownership and mitigate risk to the company
  • Develop and manage a cost savings project pipeline that will deliver YOY savings to the company
  • Lead cross-functional sourcing projects including new supplier development, new material trials and other related to assigned categories. Work closely, collaboratively with all internal stakeholders.

  • Manage new product development within assigned categories. Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all expectations are met for product launch
  • Develop and manage product transitions that effect inventories. Be pro-active in managing possible obsolescence and develop disposition plans in collaboration with all internal stakeholders
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure stability within the supply chain and product availability at all times. Proactively communicate potential supply disruptions and contingency plans
  • Work closely with Compliance department to ensure all suppliers within assigned categories are compliant

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain operations, finance or other related to business requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ category management/purchasing experience within a strategic environment
  • Minimum 3-5 years of supplier management experience

Rapid Prototype Administrator

Location - Sterling, IL

The Rapid Prototyping Administrator supports the R&D, NPD, and value Stream Engineering teams by coordinating, facilitating and prioritizing the creation of prototype parts and fixtures through our Rapid Prototyping equipment. 

Key Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develops, implements, and enforces RP standards and coaches people for proper request submittals.
  • Manages RP equipment routine maintenance as well as material and parts inventories.
  • Develops relevant metrics and prioritizations for prototype requests.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves any RP machine issues. Works with outside machine service technicians to keep equipment running.
  • Continuously researching better, more appropriate rapid prototyping technologies both internally and externally and then reporting on their findings.
  • Manages RP requests across all Sterling Engineering Groups as well as subsidiaries and outside customers.

The ideal person for this position has the following minimal requirements:

  • Associates Degree in mechanical design with a minimum of 2 years’ experience required, Bachelor’s preferred.
